Serve this fluffy whip with fresh fruit or butter cookies, or be totally decadent: Top it with chocolate chips.
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
How to Make It
In a small saucepan, heat 1/2 cup of the cream over low heat until it simmers, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat; add chips, and stir until smooth.
Meanwhile, whip the remaining cream with an electric mixer or a whisk, gradually adding in the sugar and vanilla and whipping until soft peaks form. Fold half of the whipped cream into the melted chocolate-cream mixture. Gently fold in the remaining whipped cream, and place mixture in a large bowl to chill.
Cover bowl, and chill for at least 15 minutes (or as long as overnight).
How kids can help: Fold all of the whipped cream into the chocolate-cream mixture.
