Though it takes a little more time to put it together, it's the best cake I've ever eaten. Very moist. I've made it twice now and plan to to so again. I used the Chocolate Ganash for the topping. There were 11 other cake options for this batter. I chose this one for it's simpleness. I plan to try one of the other cakes next time.

Even though the cake tasted good, the powdered sugar didn't add anything to it. It was just added blah. I will try the other additions for the batter recipe though, because that part tasted good. I don't think I am using the powdered sugar again, but the batter is a keeper recipe.

Lovely, lovely, lovely! Outstanding texture and taste, and it is so tender. I am an experienced baker, and have made my share of chocolate cakes. This recipe is top notch, and will be a staple in my baking. Next time, I may add some cocoa powder to the hot water at the end to kick up the chocolate experience a notch!

I tried this recipe last Christmas along with the Chocolate Ganache and have made it a few times since. Very easy recipe to follow. I did use only half of the suggested powdered sugar - just seemed like too much 'sweet' - it was still very rich. I don't do a lot of baking and not a big cake fan, but tried this one for my family and everyone really liked it. Stays moist and I like the simple eloquence of the Chocolate Ganache over top.
