6 (4-ounce) sweet chocolate baking bars, chopped (we tested with Baker's German sweet chocolate)
1 pound butter
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Melt chocolate and butter in a heavy saucepan over medium-low heat; cool 10 minutes. Stir in pecans and vanilla; cool mixture until spreading consistency, stirring occasionally (about 45 minutes).
