This granola is a nice change from other kinds because of the chocolate flavoring. The first time I made it, I added more chocolate to the recipe and used Whole Grain Rice K's (new on the market), and the results were terrible. Much too rich and the WG Rice K's were awful. The second time I made this exactly as the recipe states (minus the nuts), and everyone liked it very much. Not too rich for breakfast with milk, but it still turns the milk chocolately. The kids like it a lot. This one is a keeper.

This granola makes a great snack, is really good in yogurt or on ice cream, and my husband loves it as cereal. It was super easy to make. I used semisweet chocolate and chopped walnuts and almonds because that's what I had on hand. I also used less brown sugar (1/3 cup instead of 1/2) since I used semisweet chocolate rather than bittersweet. I also sprinkled a small handful of chocolate chips over the granola before baking it. The chips baked up sort of fudge-like, which is really good throughout the granola. I will definitely make this again!

I forgot to get cereal, but we had some cinnamon Cheerios, which were SO great in this recipe! I also used almond slivers instead of pecans. The whole recipe was so great, I paired a little bag with Cocobon wine and gave it to co workers for Christmas!
