Cream butter, shortening, and cream cheese in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well. Stir in melted chocolate.
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt in a small mixing bowl; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition. Stir in pecans.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheets. Remove from cookie sheets, and cool completely on wire racks.
