Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

Instead of piping the chocolate frosting between the individual cookie wedge layers, you can pipe the frosting between the whole cake layers, then cut into wedges.  It’s one step up from those popular cookie cakes and sure to be a hit at any birthday party.

Preparation

  1. Prepare dough for All-Time Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies. Spread cookie dough into 3 (8-inch) round cake pans greased and lined with parchment paper.  Bake at 350’ for 18-20 minutes or until lightly browned on top. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack. Run a knife blade around edge of pan to remove cookies.  Cut each layer into 8 wedges.
  2. Prepare Chocolate Frosting only from the Chocolate High Cupcakes recipe.  Place frosting in a cake decorating piping bag fitted with a star tip.  Stack wedges by piping frosting between layers. Decorate the top wedge with a piped dollop of frosting.
