Chili Oil

This homemade Chili Oil adds a flavorful kick when cooking or seasoning foods. And with only 3 ingredients, this quick and easy flavored oil makes a thoughtful gift for that special cook on your list.

Yield: 1 1/2 cups, enough for 1 bottle

Ingredients

  • 7 dried arbol chiles
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups oil (vegetable or olive)

Preparation

  1. Stir all ingredients together in a pot. Warm over medium-low heat until a candy thermometer registers 165ºF. Let cool. Strain and pour into bottle. Cork; keep chilled for up to 1 month.
