These were great! Super easy to make and delicious. Took me about 30 minutes. I did not have tahini paste so just added some sesame seeds. I bet it would be even better with the paste. I only used 3 (large) garlic cloves which was plenty. Thank you cooking light for another great recipe!

Way too much garlic in sauce. It was so spicy we could barely eat it (and we love garlic). I diluted it with more garlic-less tsatziki and it was better. I don't have a grill pan so I tossed the chicken with the spices, let it sit, and then sauteed it in a skillet. It had lots of flavor. I wonder if that method made the flavors stick better (I sauteed it in Pam, not oil) than the grill pan method?

If it were up to me personally, I wouldn't make this recipe again, but the husband thought it was great and asked for it to be added to the "weekly rotation." (Poor guy, there is no "weekly rotation"--- I'm always trying new recipes!) I thought it was kind of boring and the tahini sauce was way too garlicky, but it was certainly easy enough to pull together. I've added it to the "favorites" file because he raved about it so much, but I was kind of lukewarm on it.

These were great! The sauce was a little garlicky, three cloves would have been fine. Trader Joe's was selling fresh Tahini in their refrigerator section which was perfect. Will definitely make these again. Served with home baked oven fries, with greek seasoning. Didn't skewer the chicken, just tossed the marinated pieces on the grill pan. Worked perfectly!

I made this for my family and we were quite disappointed with the lack of flavor of the chicken. I followed the recipe exactly, down to the tahini and skewers. Neither myself, my husband nor my two boys cared for this meal. The chicken was missing something, especially compared to other recipes I've used to make Chicken Souvlaki. Perhaps, less lemon and a smaller ratio of tahini would have improved the flavor of the sauce, I found it too bitter for my taste. I really, really wanted to like this recipe!

I thought this was pretty good but a bit time-consuming for what it is. I could not find tahini but found a decent substitute (peanut butter + toasted sesame oil) though I'm going to search out tahini as my 9yo could taste the peanut butter (which he doesn't like). The sauce was yummy anyway (to me) and rather than a 1" chunk for the chix, I sliced it thin like gyro (lamb) meat.

This recipe was very tasty. I would definately make it again!

This was a fun BBQ recipe. Quick Tip #1 - buy substantial pita bread: too thin and its a mess. Like others have said, there is way too much garlic in the sauce, but a simple cut in half fixed it. Try substituting Greek yogurt instead of traditional then adding a little more cucumber for a better "cooling" effect. I couldn't easily find Tahini in a small enough container that I would use any time soon, but a quick Google of how to make it meant that I could toast those sesame seeds then blend with olive oil for just the amount needed and not leave me with (yet) another bottle in the condiments section of my fridge.

Simple and tasty - great easy recipe for grilling out on a summer day. We used jarred minced garlic instead of fresh, and I think it helped cut some of what could have been overpowering garlic flavor. Also added extra shredded cucumber and salt/pepper to the tahini sauce mixture which brought out more of the flavor. This would also be great as a salad if you don't have pitas on hand. Will definitely make again!

These were easy to make but a little on the bland side. I think they would be great for an outdoor lunch with some snazzy appetizers, but alone they were just a bit boring.

We thought this was pretty awful. The garlic was overpowering in the sauce and we love garlic

Love these. We use spinach instead of lettuce though. Easy and delicious.

WAY too much garlic. I think that has to be a typo in the recipe - it was very overpowering, and I only used 3 cloves (and I typically love garlic). Overall, it was ok but not amazing. Agree with other reviews that the chicken was kind of bland. I put some extra salt on it and that helped. Not sure that I'll ever use this recipe again, but I make tweak the sauce recipe a bit and use that in the future.

I'm glad I made these as they are a little different than our usual fare, although they were a bit bland for my taste. I made my own tahini for this recipe and used the extra to make hummus that we enjoyed along with this. I served with spicy roasted potatoes and together that was a pretty good combo. I will make these again but might experiment with the sauce.

Never, never, never to much garlic.....

This review is actually for everything but the tahini sauce, because I could not justify buying a whole jar of tahini when I only needed a little bit...and all the reviews about it being too garlicky did kind of scare me. That being said, however, this is a mighty tasty sandwich. As opposed to the tahini-yogurt sauce, I did make it with a homemade tzatziki with a little chopped fresh mint, which was the perfect compliment to the lemony chicken and delicious veggies. DH & I loved it, and ate leftovers for lunch for the next couple of days.
