Very tasty. Made to recipe except sprinkled small amount of cayenne on chicken prior to grilling on the George Foreman. Filled pita halves to make two minis per person. Served the recommended chopped salad topped with some kalamata olives & crumbled feta cheese. Recommend.

My husband made this for dinner tonight and I loved it. It was full of authentic flavor and filled me up.

This is one of the best, most flavorful recipes from CL. I am a member of over 10 years and this one is another keeper. Served with Naan (didn't have pita), home-made hummus and salad. GREAT! This goes into my "favorites" file!

Love this recipe! Even my very picky seven year old will eat it and asks when I'm going to make "that yellow chicken" again. Cut salt in half, and added curry and cumin to sauce as well. Family won't eat it pita style, so I serve with rice. It's on the rotation at our house - even in non-grill weather. Just sautee the chicken instead.

Very tasty! Added a little more garlic, just because we like it...think next time I make it, I'll try Madras curry powder, but regular was pretty tasty, as I added some tumeric and dry mustard as well. Served with flour tortillas, like a wrap, but like the idea of cous cous, either kind. Didn't bother to grill, just sauteed, but sure it would be even better over the grill. Made a greek salad to go with. Will try again on the grill and with suggestions from other reviewers.

Made this for a friend and he said that it tasted even better than a favorite Middle Eastern Restaurant near Wurster, MA. I thought it was fantastic as well!! Didn't alter AT ALL. Definitely going to make it again! Recipe was quick and easy for a weekday and would be equally good for company.

This was a pretty good meal. The grill gives the chicken a really nice smoky flavor, and the sauce is great! We added some Sriracha to give it some spice, and wrapped the sandwiches in foil to make them easier to eat (they're a little messy, but worth it).

I've made this twice and it's been delicious both times. I serve it with the chopped veggie salad that was suggested with the original recipe in the magazine. Quick enough for a weeknight meal, but special enough for a crowd. Excellent!

This recipe is great! I've made it 5 times since... very flavorful and easy to make.

Outstanding!!! Halved the curry in the chicken, sauted instead of grilled, halved the sauce but kept the garlic the same, used sour cream instead of greek yogurt (that's what I had), and used fresh whole-wheat pitas from CL. These were so tasty!

What a wonderful, light dinner! I loved it! Tahini paste was not easy to find. I was able to find it in the peanut butter aisle of Sunflower Market. I also loved it leftovr! I will make again.

I really like the chopped vegetable salad that goes along with the main dish recipe, although making the salad takes this from a "quick-prep" dinner to a much more time consuming one (at least for me; I'm not particularly fast with a knife). I think the combination of flavors, colors, and textures makes for a really nice and healthy meal, though.

These were so flavorful and delicious! I added cucumbers; they added a nice flavor and texture. I'm not always a fan of curry but the flavor wasn't too heavy like it is with coconut milk. My husband also liked them. I'll definitely make these again.

Awesome. My whole family loves this recipe!! We even added a little sliced dill pickle to make it like the shawarma sandwiches you get in the restaurant.

This chicken is awesome. It really captures the flavor of my favorite Lebanese restaurant. If you're like me and don't like yogurt sauce, skip making it and spread a little hummus on the pita instead. Served it with tabbouleh. Yum. Will make often.

I experiment a lot in the kitchen and a recipe must be fabulous for me to ever make it again. This one qualifies! This dish is my "starter curry" for friends who are new to curry. I marinate the whole chicken breasts, grill them and then slice the chicken as the meat does not dry out as much this way.

So good! I make this and everyone's jealous!

This is a realllly good weekday meal. The only adjustments I made were adding some grated cucumber into the sauce and just a sprinkling of dill (because I'm not the hugest fan of tahini). I made this for my boyfriend who is English and a huge curry fan and he absolutely adored the flavorings! I will certainly make this again.

THis is a great recipe. We really liked the sauce and the chicken was good too. Made it in the oven under the broiler because we do not have a grill. Next time we will be adding more spice and maybe marinate over night.

Fantastic! Instead of adding some cucumber to the sauce like some reviews, I added a few dill pickle slices in each pita as my fav meditaranean place does. Was GREAT! Even my hubby who HATES curry said it was a repeat. My mother's first comment was to ask me to make it for a party she is having. Only drawback, I will be keeping vampires away for weeks!

This has been a staple in my house since this issue. I make it a few times a month, and my family loves it. I usually double it, and my family of three can eat on it for a few days. The chicken has so much flavor, and the sauce is amazing. It's so simple to make, too. This recipe has everything I look for- quick, easy, cheap, and super tasty.

Meremaid Posted: 08/15/10
We loved this, and thought it tasted very authentic. Great sauce! Dipping extra pita in the sauce is the way to go.

MarkPaulson Posted: 08/03/10
It was fantastic! The olive oil keeps the chicken moist when it cooks. It has a wonderful flavors. It is easy to make too. I would suggest adding some cucumber puree to the yogurt sauce (I put a 3/4 inch slice of peeled cucumber in my magic bullet). It's five star either way. I will definitely make this often.

zmichelle Posted: 10/18/10
We make this at least 3 times a month. I have made it on a grill pan, a george foreman, and baked it- excellent all three ways. We prefer to marinate and cook the breasts whole and cut them up after cooking, which leaves them super moist. The sauce is AMAZING.
-
suerocks Posted: 01/27/11
Very easy to make! Used a grill pan. I thought it was salty, so I would cut that down a lot. Next time I'll add cucumber...I think that will make it even better.

I made this for my picky eater. She prepared it and while we skipped the curry powder (re: picky eater), it was a big hit for her. Very simple and flavorful (even without the curry powder).

Yummy and easy for a weeknight. Didn't alter recipe at all. I did think the yogurt sauce turned out a little too thick.
-
KarenIrene Posted: 08/05/11
This is delicious. Greek yogurt a little too thick (the "sauce" was more like a "paste"): might try it with regular yogurt instead. Nice quick meal on a work night.

momto4girlz Posted: 01/04/12
Wonderful recipe. Even my kids love it. Once when I was out of tahini, I used natural peanut butter instead (about a tablespoon), and even that was good--just a little sweeter. It's really good made w/ shrimp, too.
-
Tim964 Posted: 11/14/11
This was a good way to get some Indian flavor. Sort of like an Indian gyro. I did not have tahini, and didn't want to buy a big jar of it (only way my store had it) for 2 T, so I used about 1T of sesame oil in its place. The sauce was still great, and I may not consider buying the tahini! Cooked chicken on the george foreman and served in whole wheat tortillas.

My family loves this! Fast, easy, delicious! I just pan fry breast strips in a bit of olive oil so good!

This recipe was great! I marinaded the chicken for longer than 20 minutes and the flavor was fantastic. As many of the other reviewers stated, the sauce was a bit thick. I added a little water until it was the right consistency and it was perfect. I also followed another reviewer's suggestion and added some cumin and curry powder to the sauce as well. I served it with some hummus and curry rice. I will definitely make this again! Thanks.

Very nice flavor combination. I found the sauce to be a bit thick, a bit lemony and a bit salty for my taste. I think next time I'll thin it out with a little water, back of the lemon juice by a 1/2 teaspoon and go with just a dash of salt. The flavor of the chicken was fantastic. I did not skewer and grill - I did all the work on my stove top. I made two ingredient changes: fat free greek yogurt instead of 2% and also curry paste rather than curry powder. This is a nice, quick recipe to have in the arsenal because the fresh veggies and pitas are quite refreshing!

I loved these... not really family friendly as my kids didn't like them, but I am going to serve them at my Avenger's party!
-

I think this dish is amazingly easy and tasty, not to mention good for you (if you make as instructed). We have used the chicken to make into Shawarma's as well as a standalone chicken served with rice pilaf, pita and hummus. SO good!

ESmith6 Posted: 03/31/12
Very tasty! I pretty much made it as written except I used FF Greek yogurt, a little extra lemon juice in the sauce and I spray the pitas with Pam and the heat them in a frying pan...the best way to heat pitas. I also added some shredded carrots to the lettuce and tomatoes. A good, easy weeknight dinner.

One of my favorite quick chicken recipes! Love the sauce! I have made this time and time again and everyone I have served it to has loved it.

I was shocked at how well this turned out. I used Madras curry powder, a little cayanne pepper, and some grated cucumber in the sauce. I made it for my anniversary, and my boyfriend loved it. I made a Greek salad too, but it was completely ignored. The chicken was so good.
