Chicken-Avocado Dagwoods

Mash avocados the clean and easy way. place halves in a heavy-duty zip-top plastic bag; seal and squeeze.

Ingredients

  • 8 sourdough bread slices, toasted
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 8 purple onion slices
  • 4 (1-ounce) Monterey Jack or provolone cheese slices
  • 8 bacon slices, cooked
  • 8 lettuce leaves
  • 8 (1/4-inch-thick) roasted chicken breast slices
  • 8 tomato slices
  • 2 CALIFORNIA AVOCADOS, peeled and mashed
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

How to Make It

  1. Spread 1 side of each toast slice evenly with mayonnaise; top 4 toast slices evenly with onion slices and next 5 ingredients.

  2. Spoon mashed avocado on top. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Top with remaining toast slices, and serve immediately.
