Cherry Tomato-Caper Salad

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon drained small capers
4 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon pint cherry tomatoes, halved
6 fresh basil leaves, shredded
Bibb lettuce leaves (optional)


Combine first 4 ingredients. Drizzle over cherry tomatoes, tossing to coat. Let stand at least 15 minutes or up to 1 hour. Sprinkle with basil. Serve over Bibb lettuce, if desired.
