Cherry Sauce

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups reserved cherry juice
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon almond extract
1 drop red food coloring

Preparation

Combine reserved cherry juice, sugar, and cornstarch in a medium saucepan; stir well. Cook over medium heat about 20 minutes, stirring constantly, or until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat; add almond extract and red food coloring, stirring well. Cool completely.
