Before the excitement of the party begins, assemble these dessert-like beverages through step 1, and keep them in the freezer up to 1 hour in advance. Just before serving, fill them with cola.

1. Drain maraschino cherries, reserving juice. Set cherries aside for now. Divide maraschino cherry juice evenly among 8 glasses. Top with 1 cup ice cream.
2. Slowly fill each glass with cola soft drink. Top floats with cherries.
