Ingredients

  • 2 cups chopped peeled Granny Smith apple (about 1 medium)
  • 1 cup dried sweet cherries
  • 2/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon grated peeled fresh ginger
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, chopped

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 45 minutes. Uncover; increase heat to medium-high. Cook 15 minutes or until most of liquid evaporates. Cool completely.
