Cheddar Cheese Grits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup uncooked quick-cooking grits
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper

Preparation

Bring 2 cups milk and 2 cups water to a boil in a 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Gradually whisk in 1 cup uncooked quick-cooking grits and 1 teaspoon seasoned salt. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until thickened. Add 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper, whisking until cheese melts.
