Prepped to direction except added some beef broth to the burger mix to up the juicy-factor. Pretty tasty, loved the onion jam. Served with potato salad & corn on the cob.

THIS is the burger that will blow you away. Make exactly as directed, toasting the buns, a bit of mayo. The red onion jam is phenomenal. Were it not for the labor of chopping four cups of onions (I used three cups the second time I made it, still had more than enough) and the onerous task of mincing the fresh herbs (which definitely make a difference, do NOT use dried!) I would have given this a 5-star rating. Don't be fooled by the fact that it's a hamburger - it's that good.

This was a great week night meal. Will make again.

I was blown away by how good the red onion jam turned out. I thought for sure my husband would be asking for ketchup or some other condiment, but he couldn't ask for anything because his mouth was never empty! I used Kraft's olive oil mayo, but I don't think it made all that much of a difference. I served it with oven fries (red potatoes seasoned with EVOO, salt, and pepper). Very good meal!

We really enjoyed this recipe. It's an easy, yet interesting take on regular burgers. My only complaint is that the burgers were a little dry (not the meat, but the overall package), but maybe that's because I'm not a huge mayo fan, so I only used a smidge.

Absolutely love the red onion jam. Serve with a high-end cheddar if you can.

This was very, very good. Super easy to make, great for a busy night. Did exactly what the recipe said. Even my 3 yr old and 19 month old ate a little of the onions! They were so sweet and mild. We will be making this again for sure. Hubby went crazy over the onions. :) Served with a side of sweet potato fries.

Absolutely fabulous! Although I am a fresh-herb cook whenever possible, I had to use dried oregano and it was still great. My daughter finds burgers a ho-hum dinner and loved them. I personally tried adding my usual burger garnish of lettuce and tomato, but took off the garnish because the onions were lost in the excess! And the leftover onions will just be used another time. Having been cooked in vinegar and sugar, I expect a decent fridge shelf life.

This was great. The burgers had great flavor, and the onion jam was surprisingly tasty. I think the fresh herbs added a lot to the dish.

Great, easy recipe. I did the burgers on my Traeger grill which aded a smoky flavor. When making the burgers put a thumb shaped dimple in the middle of the burger pattys before cooking them - this keeps the burger juicy.

This was really good. I made the burgers super thin (diner style) and cooked them in my cast iron (as I don't have a grill). The red onions were a little overly sweet - I would omit the sugar going forward. I think I prefer yellow onions for caramelized onions on a burger. I also doubled the salt in the burger pattie mix which came out perfect. Overall, it was very tasty and I would definitely make it again!

We don't eat red meat very often in our house, but this recipe caught my eye. It turned out very well and was very filling. Great flavor in the meat with the herbs, and the red onion jam was a huge hit!

Yep, these are great. I didn't have fresh herbs though - the dried were fine. The white cheddar and onion combo is just great. Quick, easy, delicious.
