Chafing Dish Beef Barbecue

Yield 10 servings


  • 2 1/2 pounds lean beef for stewing, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 1 (14 1/2-ounce) can whole tomatoes, chopped and undrained
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 4 drops hot sauce
  • Small biscuits

How to Make It

  1. Place all ingredients, except biscuits, in a large Dutch oven; bring to a boil. Cover; reduce heat, and simmer 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove cover, and continue cooking over low heat 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Place in chafing dish; serve with small biscuits.
