OMG!!! I can't bake (according to anyone who knows me) but I saw a similar cake on the best thing I ever ate so i decided to try this one. I used 2 cups of light brown sugar and added pecans to the batter. My family says it is very good, it is moist and not heavy tasting. I used the recipe for the frosting and i must have done something wrong because it wasn't overly thick and i added chopped pecans to the frosting. It was easy to drizzle on the cake and even had plenty left over to warm up and pipe on the bottom of the plate and place cake over it YUM!!!!

This pound cake is WONDERFUL ! Four different people had the same reaction "OMG... this is Soooo good... it begs for a cup of coffee!" I'm making it to give away for Christmas gifts. The first batch of frosting, I thought I could whisk - not a good idea. You have to use your electric mixer and beat for a good 7-9 minutes in order to get the thickened consistency that will harden as it sits on the cake. It really is a recipe worth trying.

This cake is fabulous, made for Xmas I thought it was easy. The Frosting tasted just like the caramels you buy. Delicious.

This was my first time making caramel. It is a simple and outstanding recipe! Will make it again!!!

I made this cake for my husband's birthday because he likes caramel. I'm not sure this icing really counds as caramel - maybe more like praline? But it is good and the cake got rave reviews and requests for seconds. I used a bundt pan. My oven only took 1 hour before the top was getting very dark. The icing recipe makes A LOT! Probably only need about half that much. It completely covered the cake, filled the hole of the bundt cake and ran off the sides of the platter!

This was good and very moist, but way too sweet even without the icing. I made it for my mom's birthday, but not a single person finished their slice. I thought maybe I did something wrong, but I followed the recipe exactly. The icing by itself is really good. I think I will make the icing for another cake that is not quite so sweet to balance it out.

I added 1 cup of chopped pecans, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and added 1/4 cup real maple syrup to 3/4 cup milk. I omitted the caramel frosting. Wow this was good! To make in two 6-cup bundt pans, bake for 50 minutes.
