This cake was truly outstanding. The nuts help take the edge off of being very sweet. I cooked the icing a little longer than the stated 2 1/2 minutes and it turned out very well.

Great cake, but I will half the glaze next time and beat a little while after cooking before I apply to the cake because it wasn't thick enough after following the directitons.

This was great! It does take about 20 to 30 minutes longer to bake than the recipe states.

This is one of my most requested desserts. The heavy moist cake is different than what most people bring. I bake the cake, let it cool most of the way, then cook the glaze. I let that cool most of the way too, then spoon over the cake. It is the best way I have found to make it stay on the cake. Delicious!!!

This is the MOST delicious, easy-to-do cake! My SILbaked it and I had some, OMG! From me to my friend, to her mom and sisters, to luncheon club...who knows where from there!? My only note is to MAKE SURE the pears are very ripe and soft, it makes all the difference. Ymmm!

Sorry! This cake was a fail for our house. Too sweet and although it tested done, it had a tunnel in the very middle that was raw. A waste of very good pears and ingredients, I had to throw it away.
