I brought this to a New Year's Eve party and everyone raved--it made me the food star of the evening! The sugar burns very easily--watch carefully when preparing. I'm making it again for a dinner party this weekend. Love it!

This flan is delicious and it's not too difficult to make. I served it at a Christmas Open House and my guests raved!!

I would give this 10 stars if I could. I was very skeptical about the cream cheese as I had never seen a flan recipe with that ingredient. My daughter and I made this for Christmas Eve dinner (dessert) and couldn't have been more pleased. Everyone at the table absolutely loved it. 3 of us had seconds. I'm making it for New Years Eve. Another great Southern Living recipe.

I have made this recipe three times since I first read it less than a month ago! The first time, took it to a dinner party. What a hit! Then made it for a Chrsitmas houseguest - who asked that I make it again before she left. This is now a tried and true member of my recipe list. Easy. Foolproof. I used a very old cake pan, 9", and it was done in 49 minutes. The second time, sam. The 3rd time, I accidentally cooked it 60 minutes and it was noticeably dryer.

Unbelievably good! Minor corrections though, it takes far more than 5 minutes to melt the sugar and it must be stirred constantly at low to medium heat. Also the sugar will have just melted to a liquid carmel when it starts to darken and should be removed right away. My first batch burnt and I had to start anew. It is very rich so cut very small slices. However, I removed it from the pan in front of the guests explaining what the carmel would do and it was met with cheers and pleasure. It is a dramatic dessert.

I made this for Christmas for the first time and it was everyones favorite! So delicious and pretty easy to make and it looks beautiful! I have made it two more times and it's always a hit with everyone. I'm saving this in my "Favorite recipies of all time" catagory.

Excellent, wasn't sure the sugar would turn out ok. But everything was prefect! Thanks for a great recipe.
