You can also make pita chips with this recipe. Start with five pitas, split in half, and cut each half into eight wedges. Then proceed with the recipe below.
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
10 (7-inch) flour tortillas, cut into 8 wedges
How to Make It
Preheat oven to 375°.
To prepare Cajun seasoning, combine first 8 ingredients in a small bowl.
To prepare chips, arrange the tortilla wedges on 2 baking sheets coated with cooking spray. Coat wedges with cooking spray. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning over wedges. Bake chips at 375° for 6 minutes or until crisp.
Note: Store remaining Cajun seasoning in an airtight container.
Made these for neighborhood party. Big hit! Very flavorful but not too hot for most. A little difficult getting the timing right in the oven for 'just right' doneness. But worth the trouble. I'll make them again. Maybe today.
