Being from Louisiana shrimp and grits is a classic dish and this falls slightly short but very good if you're looking for a LIGHT recipe. The shrimp has an excellent flavor but is missing a little garlic. Also, depending on your heat tolerance be very careful with the red pepper (although I'm using Louisiana red pepper which I swear they add tabasco to it as it's hotter than any other red pepper in the rest of the country). Grits could be creamier and lacked flavor, even with the cheese (maybe because I used the recipe on the back of the grits box). I would definitely make this recipe again just paying attention to the variations mentioned above.
Cajun Shrimp
Try serving this spicy Cajun shrimp recipe with an easy side dish, such as cheese grits. Simply stir grated cheese into any kind of cooked grits.
