Okay, I'm the 'odd man out' here. I thought the recipe was okay, no "wow" factor. I followed the recipe, except used a crockpot. My husband didn't care for the 'sweetness' that the apricots added -- the sauce just didn't have much flavor -- and I used a good quality Cabernet. Will stick with CL recipe Balsamic-Braised Short Ribs which we really enjoy.

Wonderful recipe! I have replaced the red wine with port and and added more fresh herb such as basil and thyme. It is amazing over mashed potatoes and has become the most asked for meal for dinners with friends.

This dish did not live up to expectations... I followed the recipe exactly, using good quality meat and Cabernet. While the sauce was flavorful, the meat was still very tough after 2 1/2 hours - even though it was falling off the bone.

This is drop-dead delicious! Easy to set up for a slow cooker, nice rich sauce results and the meat is sooooo tender. Love the slight sweetness from the dried apricots, too. Doesn't require many ingredients but yet is so tasty! Great over mashed potatoes. I make it often in winter.
