Butterscotch Caramels

    Please review the entire recipe carefully before making them. The written instructions tell you to combine all ingredients including 1/2 cup water, and the ingrediants list does not tell you about the water. I made these using the 1/2c water, assuming the error was in the ingrediants list adn they seem fine. I looked at another caramel recipe on here and it does not call for water at all, so I will try them without the water to see if they're creamier. Also, it will take around 15min. for it to get to 240 degrees, like it says so be patient as it will sit at around 225 degrees for about 10+ minutes before suddenly reaching 240/245. These are delicious and another great treat for me to give away at the holidays.

    Since I'm new at making candy I misunderstood the directions to bring it to temperature it would take 15-20 minutes and I cooked it for 15-20 minutes after it reached temp. Needless to say I have a large piece of "ceramic tile" as my fiance says. I'll try again after reading some online tips on candy making, and remove it once it has taken the 15-20 minutes to reach temp. I'm giving them as Christmas gifts!
