This is a great base quick bread recipe. It was super easy and tasted great on its own, but i would like to try adding some cornmeal, or green onions or pepper. Basically you could add almost any herb or spice and create something new. I am sure I will make this many more times.

I loved this. Fast and easy--tastes like cornbread minus the cornmeal. I made the recipe in 12 muffins since I didn't have the proper loaf pan. It took about 19 minutes for them to bake.

This bread was so simple to make and simply delicious. I served it with chicken noodle soup but it would be good with just about anything. I will definitely make it again.

Easy, almost always have ingredients on hand, tastes great! My fam loves it!! Tried with WW flour and still great!

Will not be making this again. I was excited to try this recipe out and made it to go with chicken noodle soup. However, none of my family enjoyed it. It was strange because the texture was like a cake, with a taste that was not sweet.

So easy, fast and delicious! I used whole wheat flour as well (one part ww to one part all-purpose) and it came out with a crunchy exterior and a nice bready interior. My family has asked me to make it twice in three days, and I think it would go well with a variety of food - even by itself with a little butter and jam! I will make it often!

I was excited to try this as I love quick breads...however the taste was just...wrong. It had no flavor and was overly bland..and not in a "I can fix this" sort of way. I tried to make a cinnamon/sugar butter on it and it still tasted a bit "off". I don't know what could be wrong with the way I made it, so I am assuming the others who enjoyed it must have a different taste for things.

I have made this bread many times and it is always great. I do add different spices and flavorings - like sage and lemon peel; basil; rosemary, etc. to go with whatever meal we're having. It is so quick and I always have the ingredients. I think the texture is just right.

This recipe is easy to make and tastes wonderful. It goes great with soup or stew for dinner and is good with butter and jam for breakfast the next morning.

Super easy (and yummy) addition to any simple meal if you just want to add a little bread. (I use it with soups, or if I'm just making fish and a veggie so that I can have a little more filling carbs.) I use 1 whole egg instead of 2 egg whites and it turns out fine. Very moist. Tastes great with butter/condiments and just by itself.

This quick bread was very good, but a bit on the bland side and I thought it tasted a bit buttery too (even though there was only 1/4 cup butter, but I guess the buttermilk also contributed to this taste, especially since there wasn't much else in this bread). It definitely fit the description though, a savory flavor, tender texture and crunchy crust!

This was delicious and super easy to make. The bread was moist, fluffy, crunchy on the outside, and ever so slightly sweet. Texture is almost cake-like. One piece is just not enough!
