Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preparation

  1. 1. Bring sugar and next 4 ingredients to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring often.
  2. 2. Immediately remove mixture from heat, and cool 10 minutes. Stir in vanilla.
