Brown Sugar Cookie Dough

This recipe goes with Sugar Cookie Cran-Apple Cobbler

Yield: dough for two cobblers or 2 1/2 dozen cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  1. Beat butter at medium speed of an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add brown sugar, beating well. Add egg and vanilla, beating well.
  2. Combine flour, soda, and salt; add to butter mixture, beating just until blended.
  3. Use dough as directed above, or use to make cookies.
