Brown Gravy

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 1/2 cups reserved pan drippings

Preparation

Melt butter in a medium saucepan; add flour, and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, 10 minutes or until roux is the color of a copper penny. Gradually stir in pan drippings. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. Strain gravy into serving bowl.
