Yield 8 cups

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 1/2 quarts milk, scalded

How to Make It

  1. Combine sugar, cocoa, and salt in a medium saucepan; stir well. Gradually add water, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil; boil 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in hot milk; beat 2 minutes with a wire whisk. Serve hot.
