- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 cup shreds of wheat bran cereal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon plus 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
How to Make It
Pour milk over cereal in a small mixing bowl; stir to blend. Let stand 5 minutes.
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium mixing bowl.
Make a well in center of flour mixture. Add cereal, egg, and butter; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Spoon batter into greased muffin pans, filling two-thirds full. Bake at 425° for 25 minutes. Remove from pans immediately.
