Bourbon Ganache is a rich filling made with cream and chocolate--and a splash of bourbon as in this recipe. Use Bourbon Ganache as a filling between Double Chocolate Chip Cookies or as a glaze on your favorite cake or cupcake.
1 (12-oz.) package semisweet chocolate morsels
1/2 cup whipping cream
3 tablespoons bourbon
3 tablespoons softened butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
How to Make It
Microwave semisweet chocolate morsels and whipping cream in a 2-qt. microwave-safe bowl at MEDIUM (50% power) 2 1/2 minutes or until chocolate begins to melt, stirring at 30-second intervals. Whisk in bourbon, softened butter, and vanilla. Cover and chill, stirring occasionally, 1 hour and 30 minutes or until thickened to a spreadable consistency.
I've gotten great responses on this cookie. The chocolate chip cookies by themselves are good (not too hard or soft) and the ganache is an added bonus. Would definitely recommend folks try this one out.
