Boozy Caramel Fudge

    Horrible!!! Wished I had read previous review. The caramel mixture would not thicken and mine didn't even turn caramel color. Wished I had used my better judgment and threw it out but mixed it into fudge mixture. It floated on top and would not swirl or blend with fudge mixture. Sat in refridge all night and caramel mixture has not harden. Destroying this recipe. Does not even rate one star but review wouldn't be accepted without a rating. The absolute worst fudge recipe I have every tried.

    Flavor is good, but dark. I followed the recipe and did not have the trouble the other reviewers had. I'm not sure what I did that they did not. It did take longer than 2 hours to "chill". I left overnight in refrigerator and then sliced. Very intense flavor. A little bit goes a long way.

    This recipe sounded SO good, and I was looking for a fairly quick candy recipe for Christmas. I followed the recipe EXACTLY, but the "caramel" mixture just didn't work. After boiling for about 12-13 min., the sugar-water mixture started to brown; I added the cream and butter, but what I ended up with was a yellow-colored mixture which tasted like sugar and lemon juice! It didn't thicken at all. I already had the 2 bags of morsels and the sweetened condensed milk in a bowl, ready to melt, so I scraped it into a pan, melted it, added a bit of butter, the rum, and some chopped pecans, in an attempt to save the expensive ingredients. It's chilling in the 'fridge; 'hope it sets up!
