Blueberry French Toast

Oven baked for special breakfast. Start making the night before serving.

  • 1 loaf(s) Italian bread sliced
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup(s) half and half
  • 1 2/2 cup(s) milk
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon(s) lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon
  • dash nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cup(s) blueberries
  • 1/4 pound(s) butter (one stick)
  • 1 cup(s) brown sugar


  1. The night before:
  2. Butter a 13X9 " pan.
  3. Arrange bread slices in pan.
  4. Beat together next seven ingredients and cover the bread slices with this mixture.
  5. Cover pan and refrigerate over night.

  6. In the AM:
  7. Sprinkle egg and bread mixture with blueberries.
  8. Combine butter and brown sugar and sprinkle over.

  9. Bake in 350 oven for 40 minutes.
