Blonde Barbecue Sauce
A paler alternative to your favorite vinegar-based barbecue sauce, this version complements chicken as well as shrimp.
This recipe goes with Honey-glazed Shrimp
Yield: Makes 1 cup
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- Stir together all ingredients. Cover and chill until ready to serve.
