This was not my favorite.....just didn't do it for me or for the family. Something tasted funny. I'll stick to the traditional texas (chocolate) sheet cake :)

I found this recipe in the July Southern Living Magazine and made the cake for my mother's 87th birthday.. she loved white cake with caramel icing. As it turned out, this was her last birthday celebration, she passed away one month later. Everyone loved the cake and it holds a very dear memory for me...I would definitely make it again..with no changes to the recipe.

This cake is fantastic ! It's a beautiful cake to make for bridal or baby showers or ladies' luncheons. It's always a raving hit when I make it for party dinners. I love the ease, love the almond flavoring. It's a very easy cake to make and special enough for those nice occasions. Try it ! True, the chocolate sheet cake is also special, but opt out of the norm for a change.
