Blistered Asparagus

Once you add the asparagus, shake the pan so that the spears lie in a single layer.

  • 1 pound asparagus spears, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt

How to Make It

  1. Heat a large, heavy skillet over high heat for 2 minutes.

  2. Coat pan with cooking spray. Add asparagus to pan in a single layer. Cook, without stirring, 2 to 3 minutes or until asparagus is lightly charred. Cook 3 minutes or until crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.

  3. Remove pan from heat; let stand 1 minute. Add butter, pepper, and salt; toss.
