Trimming the pork shoulder was very time-consuming; if we were to make again probably would go for an easier cut. Don't have access to fresh pre-washed & chopped greens so started with bunches of greens and also used fresh oregano. Otherwise made to recipe and got a nice posole. Served with cornbread. Pretty good.

this is one of the most flavorful soups i have ever made, and i love to make soup from fresh ingredients. perfect for hew years, and wonderful with simple cornbread. i added a can of blackeyed peas to make it heartier - i also think it would be good with shoepeg corn!
