- Vegetable oil
- 6 large fresh beets, peeled, trimmed, and thinly sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Pour oil to a depth of 3 inches into a Dutch oven or heavy saucepan; heat to 375°. Fry beets in small batches 10 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt.
