Ingredients

  • 1 pound smoked sausage
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 (16-ounce) cans great Northern beans, undrained
  • 2 (16-ounce) packages frozen chopped turnip greens with diced turnips
  • 1 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned pepper

Preparation

  1. Cut sausage into 1/4-inch-thick slices; sauté in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat 5 minutes or until brown. Add onion, and sauté 3 minutes. Stir in beans and remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 to 20 minutes or until greens are tender.
