Basting Sauce

Yield Makes 4 1/2 cups

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Dry Spices
  • 2 cups red wine vinegar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1 bay leaf

How to Make It

  1. Combine all ingredients; cover and let stand 8 hours. (This may not taste pleasant when sampled by itself.)

  2. Note: You can serve this recipe with John Wills's Baby Back Ribs.
