Basil-Lime Fruit Salad

    We've already made this twice this summer. We don't necessarily follow the fruit in the recipe. It's whatever hits our fancy, at the store. Today was mango, kiwi, raspberries and passion fruit. Love the lime-basil flavoring. Sometime this summer, we will really have to make it with the strawberries, though.

    I made this last Easter, just as it is written and everyone loved it. I searched for it today because I remembered it and wanted to bring it to a "pot luck" book chat. I did have to leave out the kiwi since we had none and put in grapes. It was still good but the kiwi was better.

    Served at mega family gathering for Easter. Enjoyed comments like "It tasted like a tropical island with all the tropical fruits." Great for taking for lunch or snack or for ladies luncheon. So colorful and fresh. One nephew said to his wife,"Get that recipe. WOW

    Delicious. The fruit, alone, is so good, I'm unsure if the syrup is necessary. I made as directed.

    Delicious and simple. A great variation on traditional fruit salad. I love that it can be made ahead. I substituted cilantro for basil and it was just as good!

    I made this for the first time this Easter weekend and LOVE IT! I love basil and this was a great combination! Will be making this a lot this summer! Yummy!

    The subtle basil and lime flavors really make this dish. Made it for friends, and they loved it! (I only used about half of the syrup mixture.) We had a little fruit salad left over, so the next day I served it over angel food cake with vanilla ice cream. The texture of the fruit was a little mushy for having soaked in the syrup overnight, but it still made for a great dessert. So good!

    Delicious! The syrup is the best part and the perfect way to dress up fruit for a special occasion. I'm excited to try it with some different fruits. I'm thinking of more citrus fruits like grapefruit and oranges.

    I made this for a baby shower and it was enjoyed by all! I swapped Truvia for the sugar and added watermelon and blueberries. I left out the kiwi (didn't have any). So good!
