The sauce needs either less liquid added or more than 30 minutes to simmer.

I made this with the Pizza Margherita last night and it was delicious!! I only rated it 3 stars as I thought the sauce was on the watery side--next time I will not add all of the reserved juice to the tomatoes. The garlic flavor was wonderful!!

Great sauce, love it w/Pepperoni Deep Dish and the Cheese Pizza in CL Sept. 2006. Made a few changes after first time - sauteed 1/4 cup chopped onion in olive oil, then add the garlic. I also add about 1/2 tsp. sugar and a dash of white wine when I add the tomatoes, and increase the oregano to 3/4 tsp. Also, per the CL Basic Sauce recipe in Sept. 2006, I addd a splash of balsamic vinegar at the end.

I registered JUST to review this recipe. It's DIVINE! So simple and so tasty! I'm replacing my old recipe with this one. I did read it wrong and used only half the tomatoes called for but it was a tasty mistake, my pizza was fabulous!

I make this sauce to go with the Whole Wheat Pizza Dough recipe. Our family loves it! I cut the oil in half and it's less watery this way.

Great recipe!! My wife and I enjoyed it!! I made a few changes . . . I used a can of crushed tomatoes w/basil. I also included some of the changes other reviewers suggested. I added 1/2tsp. sugar, and upped the oregano to 3/4tsp. I also added a 1/2 onion, minced. I used it on store-bought whole wheat pizza dough. Enjoy!

So I am not even done cooking this sauce, and I have to rate it 5 stars because I can not stop sampling it. I found the recommended tomatoes at a piggly wiggly, which was weird because they did not have them at a publix? I am following the recipe, and I love the result that is currently on my stove top. Tomorrow I plan to make the pizza marghrita, but for today I will be using the sauce to make bagel pizzas. Wish me luck :)
