In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk, egg, and 1 tablespoon melted butter and whisk just to combine.
Working in batches, melt 1/2 tablespoon of the remaining butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. For each pancake, spoon 2 tablespoons of batter into the skillet and cook until bubbles appear on the tops and the bottoms are golden, 1 to 2 minutes. Flip the pancakes and cook 30 seconds more. Repeat with remaining butter and batter.
