Cook Time:

  • 1 cup(s) brown rice or quinoa rinsed
  • 2 cup(s) water
  • 1 teaspoon(s) sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) olive oil or coconut oil

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using a fine mesh strainer, rinse the brown rice with cool water until the water runs clear. Rub olive oil along the bottom and sides of a glass casserole dish. Combine rice, water and salt in the casserole dish, cover and put in the preheated oven. Set the timer for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes if there is still standing water on the top of the rice then set for another 5-10 minutes. Once all water has been absorbed remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes covered; fluff with a fork. Partner with your favorite veggies or protein.
