Basic Crostini

  • 12 slice(s) hearty Italian bread, cut 1/4-in. thick
  • 3 tablespoon(s) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove(s) garlic, peeled


  1. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with olive oil. 
Place under a broiler for about 2 minutes on each side, until lightly browned. 
Rub one side of the toast with whole garlic clove. Before the bread cools, cut the slices in half if you are using a fat loaf of bread. The toast should be about 2-3 inches in diameter.
