6 servings (serving size: 1 pork chop and 1 1/2 tablespoons sauce)
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
6 (6-ounce) bone-in center-cut pork chops (about 1/2 inch thick)
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
How to Make It
Prepare grill or broiler.
To prepare sauce, combine the first 4 ingredients in a small bowl. Place 1/4 cup sauce in a small bowl, and set aside.
Trim fat from pork. Combine the thyme, garlic salt, and pepper; sprinkle over pork. Place pork on a grill rack or broiler pan coated with cooking spray; cook 6 minutes on each side, basting with remaining sauce. Serve pork chops with reserved 1/4 cup sauce.
We quadruple the sauce as my teenager loves it. A go to grilling favorite for when we have company; herb rub gives it a slight kick. Simple, little prep, fast. Serve it with some roasted potatoes and asparagus on grill. Sometimes I caramelize apple slices in a skillet on grill to go with it
Three stars seems a bit high, but in all honesty, it was a good recipe. However (despite the massive amounts of five star reviews on here) I wouldn't say it was anything other than just an above-average barbecue recipe. I will give the recipe credit for making a good dish out of so few ingredients, but at the end of the day, this was just a basic barbecued pork chop, with a sauce that was good-but-nothing-special. This recipe works great as a quick, easy, cheap way to grill some pork chops and would be especially good for folks who don't like anything too bold or complex from their food. However, in terms of a meal that would be special or might impress dinner guests or a date, this just doesn't offer very much.
I combined the BBQ sauce and spices and then marinated the pork overnight. Before I cooked it I removed the sauce and put it aside. I cooked the pork most of the way and then began basting with the sauce. My husband thought it was one of the best things that I ever cooked and I think the marinating made it even more tender and delicious.
This is my new "go-to" BBQ sauce recipe. It's super easy and tastes better than any of the expensive (or cheap!) store bought stuff I've tried in the past. I did my chops on the grill and they came out perfectly. This is a great recipe!
