Barbecued Pork Chops

1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup catsup
3/4 cup vinegar
1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
8 (1 1/4-inch-thick) pork loin chops (about 4 1/2 pounds)


Combine first 10 ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cook, uncovered, 30 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.

Place chops 4 to 5 inches from medium coals; grill 15 minutes on each side, basting frequently with sauce. Serve any remaining sauce with chops.
