We liked it. The sauce is spicy but we didn't serve it over the mashed potatoes, just with the meatballs and it was fine. I just used my food processor instead of a blender. I also added some garlic salt to the raw turkey mixture before forming the meatballs.

The title of this recipe is a little misleading, as the sauce tastes a lot more southwestern than BBQ. However, the sauce did taste great and was delicious with a hint of chilies and cumin. This was a hit in my house, and my husband loved it! I would definitely make again. The mashed potatoes were perfect with the sauce as well.

I agree that the sauce ends up being a little more like salsa than real barbecue but it was certainly tasty. For me, though, I wish the sauce would have been thicker and a little more flavor. Overall, easy enough for a weekday dinner and we will definitely be making it again.

Easy to prepare and tasty. Great with mashed potatoes.

My star rating is guided by the descriptive words "has potential" but we probably won't make it again. My husband and I didn't really like the flavor of the sauce; we thought it was too thin and vinegary and not enough BBQ-y. If I were to make again, I'd reduce the cumin and reduce the vinegar. I would also either add more smoked paprika or chili powder to either the sauce or the turkey. I panicked that the meat wouldn't hold its shape so I added a beaten egg. That made it too runny so then I added more breadcrumbs. Based on other reviews, I probably didn't need to do this. Served with a mashed potato and corn.

meh. tasted less like barbeque and more like spicy vinegar. the meatballs themselves seemed spongy. served it with mashed potatoes and a salad. My 5 year old outright disliked it and we parents were pretty indifferent/unimpressed with it.

Great recipe and nice alternative to turkey meatloaf. Had 1/4 cup of rice on the side.

These came together quickly and easily. The meatballs were flavorful and held together well. I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor of the sauce (too taco-y for me), but that's just a personal taste issue. I omitted the chili powder to make it more kid-friendly, and I'm glad I did. After I rinsed the sauce off, all three kids (ages 6, 4 and 2) ate the meatballs, which is a miracle! Next time I will simply make the sauce less like salsa and more like barbecue sauce. Overall, worth making.

I think it has great taste but it is a bit too spicy. I would take out a little bit of the chili powder and paprika, but its great for a meal. Served with rice and corn and French fries.

This sauce has kick, loved the spices. Easy to make the sauce and meatballs ahead. I does go well with mashed potatoes!

It was a bit too spicy for my tastes. But I like the idea. Next time I will use regular tomato sauce and cut back on the cumin and chili. Tasted like tacos. But easy and quick. Will try again with changes.
