Oxmoor House SEPTEMBER 2012

  • Yield: Serves 15 (serving size: 2 tablespoons)
  • Hands-on: 2 Minutes
  • Total: 30 Minutes

  • 1 cup organic ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seeds
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan, stirring with a whisk until smooth. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool completely. Cover and store in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.

Tip: I have gone a bit crazy trying to get high-fructose corn syrup out of my kids' diet, so I've started buying organic ketchup, which doesn't have any. It's delicious.
