Barbecue Sauce

Yield about 2 cups


  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1 medium-size green pepper, finely chopped
  • 4 lemon slices
  • 1 whole dill pickle, finely chopped
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon firmly packed brown sugar

How to Make It

  1. Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes. Use sauce for barbecuing beef, pork, or chicken.
